Coronavirus cases likely to return to workplace in HCM City

VOV.VN - Ho Chi Minh City is examining the possibility of allowing COVID-19 infected cases (F0) and close-contact cases (F1) to return to the workplace if their health is guaranteed.

If asymptomatic cases have no health problems and are willing to work, they can come back to the workplace under close scrutiny, said Phan Van Mai, head of the municipal government on March 9.

He pointed out that a number of agencies and businesses are facing a serious shortage of personnel to maintain operation as many employees are F0 cases and placed in quarantine at home.

The matter should be reconsidered thoroughly to ensure normal operations of socio-economic establishments, said Mai.

He assigned the Municipal Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control and Economic Recovery to weigh up the option and submit proposals at the committee’s next meeting.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Van Nen, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, suggested that the health sector should flexibly adjust pandemic measures, including the 5K practice, noting some of those regulations such as maintaining safe distance and avoiding gatherings are no longer consistent with real life.

Earlier, the Ministry of Health also proposed that asymptomatic cases be allowed to travel by personal vehicle directly from the isolation place to the arranged working area and vice versa.
