Close to 9,000 COVID-19 cases recover with no deaths reported

VOV.VN - Vietnam recorded an additional 1,319 new COVID-19 infections across 42 localities throughout the country, and a total of 8.945 recoveries on May 22.

The national tally saw a drop of 138 cases from the previous day.

The total fatalities stayed at 43,075 with no death confirmed over the past 24 hours, accounting for 0.4 of the total caseload.

During the last week, the daily average was 1,606 cases, while the daily average death toll was at one.

In the latest wave that began in April last year, over 10.7 million cases have been documented with 9.39 million already recovering.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Vietnam has logged 10,708,887 infections, ranking 24th out of 227 countries and territories, while with the ratio of infections per million people, the nation ranks 130th out of 227 countries and territories.

By May 21, the country had injected a total of 36,346, taking the total number of vaccine doses administered to 219,084,118.
