70-90% of industrial waste to be controlled by 2025
Vietnam has set a target of having 70-90% of industrial waste controlled by 2025.
This is part of an environmental protection plan of the Ministry of Industry and Trade for the 2020-2025 period recently approved by Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung.
Under the plan, 80% of ash, cinder and gypsum born in power, chemical and fertilizer factories will be recycled, reused and processed as materials for production and construction so as to meet environmental protection requirements.
By 2025, all businesses operating in the sector will be provided with knowledge on environmental protection laws.
The sector will prioritise the use of environmentally-friendly plastic products.
