According to the Chinese Central Television, the two sides had straight forward discussion on conditions put forward by the US and the RoK to resume the six-party talks, which has been interrupted since April, 2009.
The DPRK side maintained their stance on resuming the talks without preconditions, while the US and RoK said that the DPRK should express their sincerity in giving up nuclear weapon.
This is the second talk between the two countries’ nuclear envoys during recent months. They also met in Bali, Indonesia in July, without reaching any result.
The six-party talks involving the DPRK, RoK, the US, Japan, China and Russia, started in 2003. The process stalled after Pyongyang's missile trials in 2009.
China, which is chair of the talks, expressed hope that this RoK-DPRK bilateral discussion will bring positive results.
