The Vietnam Coast Guard (VCG) and the China Coast Guard (CCG) held their first exchange programme on the Party and political affairs in Hanoi on August 27.

The programme is of significance as it is the basis for enhancing exchanges, sharing experiences, and accumulating more knowledge and experiences, thereby contributing to better completing assigned tasks.

Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai, Political Commissar of the VCG, and Major General Liu Houjie, Deputy Political Commissar of the CCG, agreed that the establishment of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership reflected strong political trust between the two Parties, States, peoples, and armies, creating a favourable basis for the two countries’ agencies to advance and expand cooperation across various fields.

They affirmed that the event will contribute to strengthening political trust and mutual understanding between the two forces, and offer a chance for them to exchange and share experiences in the Party and political affairs, thus helping to consolidate and promote the friendly neighbourliness, and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region.

Oai stated that as both the VCG and the CCG are under the absolute and direct leadership of their respective Communist Parties in all aspects. Therefore, performing the Party and political affairs is a fundamental principle in the building and execution of duties for each coast guard force.

Amidst complicated developments of the global and regional situation, the maritime law enforcement forces will face various types of crimes and legal violations, requiring them to intensify close coordination, and increase the exchange and sharing of experiences in carrying out their missions, he added.
