Vietnam welcomes UN resolution calling for end of embargo against Cuba

Vietnam welcomes the United Nations General Assembly’s adoption of a resolution calling for an end to the US embargo against Cuba, spokesperson for the Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang said.

The maintenance of the embargo is inappropriate and needs to be promptly removed in its entirety, Hang said at the ministry’s regular press conference in Hanoi on November 8.

The lifting of the embargo will meet the aspirations and legitimate interests of Cuban people, as well as contribute to development, peace, and stability in the Americas, she said.
