Vietnam voices objection to Taiwan's live-fire drills on Ba Binh island

VOV.VN - Vietnam resolutely opposes and demands that Taiwan (China) cancel live-fire drills taking place in the waters around Ba Binh island which are part of the Vietnamese Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago and not to repeat similar violations in the future, Le Thi Thu Hang, spokeswoman of the Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said on December 2.

Responding to a reporter's query relating to the Vietnamese reaction to the live-fire drills conducted by Taiwan (China) on November 29,  Hang repeated that the exercises seriously violated Vietnamese territorial sovereignty over the Truong Sa archipelago.

Indeed, their actions threatened peace, stability, safety, and security of navigation in the region, whilst also inducing tensions and complicated the situation in the East Sea.

Vietnam resolutely opposes and requests that Taiwan (China) stop live-fire drills in the waters around Ba Binh island of Vietnam’s Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago, noting that they should not repeat this action in the future, the official said.
