Vietnam treasures comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia

This comes after Ambassador Khoi received a Russian delegation on September 19 made up of parliamentarians from the Russia’s State Duma (lower house) who are members of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) led by Ivan Melnikov, first vice chairman of the Russian State Duma and Vice Chairman of the CPRF.

During the course of the reception, Ambassador Khoi put forward a number of recommendations for the two sides as they seek to enhance their trade, investment, and tourism partnership, including the resumption of direct air routes between both sides.

The Vietnamese diplomat went on to thank the Russian Government for helping the Vietnamese community in Russia to settle down, proposing that the Russian State Duma continue to support the community residing there.

In response, Melnikov said he hopes the 24th meeting of the Vietnam-Russia Inter-Governmental Committee which is slated to take place later this year will be fruitful, and touched upon the visit to Vietnam by parliamentarians of the Russian State Duma  this year.

Melnikov went on to voice his support for Ambassador Khoi in organising Vietnamese-language courses for Vietnamese children in Russian schools, as well as for pledging to help open Vietnamese classes in schools in Moscow.

He also suggested that the two countries seek to intensify the organisation of cultural and people-to-people exchange activities to reinforce the solidarity between the two nations as a means of strengthening their comprehensive partnership, he stated.mbassador Khoi also gave an invitation to visit Vietnam from Le Hoai Trung, head of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, to Melnikov.
