Vietnam resolutely opposes Taiwanese live-fire drills in Ba Binh

VOV.VN - The nation resolutely opposes and demands Taiwan (China) cancel live-fire drills taking place in the waters around Ba Binh (Itu Aba) which are part of Vietnam’s Truong Sa, also known as the Spratly Islands, said Pham Thu Hang, vice spokesperson of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on March 31.

In reply to a reporter's query on the country’s reaction to the Taiwanese announcement of its live-fire drills, Hang said Vietnam has repeatedly affirmed that the exercises seriously violate Vietnamese territorial sovereignty over Truong Sa. Indeed, these actions threaten peace, stability, safety, and security of navigation, whilst also complicating the situation in the East Sea.

The country demands that the Taiwanese side do not repeat such violations in the future, the spokesperson stressed.
