Vietnam ready to facilitate German expansion in investment, business
VOV.VN - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang has affirmed Vietnam's readiness to offer favorable conditions for German enterprises to expand investment and operations, particularly in infrastructure, renewable energy, high-tech, and high-quality human resource training.
Receiving MP Rolf Mutzenich, member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the German Bundestag, in Hanoi on August 18, Hang emphasized that Vietnam regards Germany as a top priority partner and wishes to deepen the bilateral strategic partnership.
Outlining Vietnam's development goals in its new era, the Vietnamese diplomat said the country aims to maintain double-digit economic growth and achieve its centenary targets, becoming a high-income developed nation by 2045. Vietnam is pushing up a new growth model centered on science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, and the private sector.
Hang urged German firms to invest in sectors where Germany excels and that match Vietnam's development priorities, including smart ports, high-speed rail, renewable energy, and advanced technology.
In response, Mutzenich expressed impression at Vietnam’s socioeconomic achievements, affirming that the Bundestag supports forging bilateral relations in line with the Strategic Partnership and is ready to accompany Vietnam in its new development phase. He noted substantial potential to broaden ties through political trust, delegation exchanges, and parliamentary cooperation.
The two sides agreed to promote party-to-party dialogue, particularly between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). Hang also asked Germany to support parliamentary exchange and assist the community of over 200,000 Vietnamese residing, studying, and working in Germany.
Both sides concurred on enhancing cooperation in education, labor, science, technology, defense, and security, while effectively utilizing bilateral potential through ASEAN-Germany and EU-Vietnam frameworks.
Exchanging views on international and regional issues of mutual concern, both sides emphasized the importance of dialogue and trust-building, supported multilateralism with the UN at its core, and stressed maintaining peace, stability, security, and freedom of navigation and aviation in the East Sea (internationally known as the South China Sea), as well as resolving disputes by peaceful means in accordance with international law, particularly the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung has called on Vietnam and Germany to adopt innovative approaches to cooperation and make better use of their complementary strengths in trade, investment, defence-security, science-technology, education and workforce development.
