Vietnam joins int’l defence-security exhibition in France

VOV.VN - A Vietnamese delegation led by Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) Lieut. Gen. Nguyen Van Nghia attended the international land and air Defence and Security exhibition (Eurosatory 2022) in Paris.

The Vietnamese delegation's attendance is made at the invitation of the French Ministry of Armed Forces.

Eurosatory is one of the largest arms exhibitions globally, with this year’s event drawing 160 countries and leading defence firms.

The defence ministry delegation has joined most of the exhibitions of this kind since 1998 with a view to updating new technologies, scientific and technical advances, equipment development trends of the armies other countries, and seek cooperation opportunities.

In the framework of the event, the Vietnamese delegation held a host of meetings with a number of French officers.

During the meetings, both sides were appreciative of strongly- promoted bilateral with many positive results achieved.

They pledged to step up bilateral defence in an effective and substantive manner, with a major focus on training, military medicine and UN peacekeeping activities.

On the occasion, Lieut. Gen. Nghia invited representatives from the French Ministry of Armed Forces, and defence businesses of France to engage in the first Vietnam International Defence Expo 2022 slated for December this year.
