Vietnam augments cooperation in gender equality, environmental protection

VOV.VN - Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh and her entourage have returned to Hanoi, concluding her visit to Poland, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic. 

Deputy Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoc in a recent media interview said the Vietnamese delegation actively participated in the 26th Global Summit of Women in Poland, introduced to foreign friends Vietnam’s consistent policies on gender equality and women’s advancement, and women’s contributions to national development.

At the 32nd session of the UN Human Rights Council, Ms Thinh delivered a speech proposing that the UNHRC focus on implementing the 2030 Agenda on sustainable development and climate change response. She told the participants about drought and salt intrusion in Vietnam’s Central Highlands, southern central region, and the Mekong Delta.

Vice President Thinh held separate talks with leading figures from Poland, Switzerland, and Czech to improve bilateral cooperation. Deputy Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoc said her visits were successful bilaterally and multilaterally, opening up prospects in relations with the three countries, UN agencies, and the International Parliamentary Union.
