Vietnam and Mongolia deepen ties with co-operation agreement
VOV.VN - Chairman of the Presidential Office of Vietnam, Le Khanh Hai, welcomed his Mongolian counterpart, Gombojav Zandanshatar, during a reception in Hanoi on January 10.
Hai said that since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1954, Vietnam and Mongolia have nurtured a strong traditional friendship. Over the decades, both countries have supported each other in national defense, development, and fostering close collaboration through Party, government, and people-to-people exchanges. Cooperation across key areas such as politics, diplomacy, trade, investment, agriculture, and education has steadily grown, yielding tangible results.
The elevation of bilateral relations to a Comprehensive Partnership during Party General Secretary and State President To Lam's state visit to Mongolia in September 2024 was a landmark moment, marking a new chapter in bilateral ties, Hai noted.
Expressing optimism about the future, Hai emphasized that the newly signed cooperation agreement between the two presidential offices will facilitate better information exchange and sharing of experiences to strengthen collaboration. He hoped the two agencies would maintain regular exchanges of delegations to enhance mutual support and effectiveness in areas of shared interest.
For his part, Gombojav Zandanshatar commended the significant progress in Vietnam-Mongolia relations, particularly through high-level delegation exchanges. He called for close coordination between the two offices to ensure the effective implementation of agreed initiatives. He also expressed his agency's commitment to fostering deeper cooperation in economic, trade, tourism, and other areas.
On this occasion, a cooperation agreement was signed between the two presidential offices, paving the way for stronger bilateral ties.
