Top Party leader’s China visit is of great political significance, says Chinese

In an article published on Chinese media on November 3, Liu wrote the top leaders of the two sides have successfully made three reciprocal visits since 2015, with each visit taking place at a pivotal moment in each country’s politics. This “shows the speciality and importance of the relationship between the two sides, while also highlighting the special importance and continued positive expectation of bilateral relations,” he affirmed.

According to the author, the joint statement released following the visit highlights both sides’ broad consensus on regional and international issues, and at the same time emphasizes the vast cooperation space and great potential for cooperation between the two sides.

“Along with the rapid development of Vietnam’s economy, especially its efforts to promote post-pandemic recovery, the China-Vietnam economic and trade cooperation is expected to reach new heights,” Liu wrote.

The joint statement specifically features 12 areas of economic and trade cooperation, from land border gate connection and production capacity, to supply chain assurance, digital economy and green economy. All this “shows both sides’ firm determination to deepen economic and trade cooperation, said Liu, adding this positive information will help strengthen market confidence, and promote more trade and economic exchanges between the two countries.

The author also highly appreciated the two countries’ interest in increasing exchanges in the fields of social affairs and humanity, while considering youth and communications exchanges as an important foundation for steady development of bilateral relations.

Liu emphasized, “a series of common strategic agreements reached by the top leaders of the two countries will strongly promote the China-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation Partnership in the new era to new heights.”

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong of Vietnam visited China from October 30 to November 1 at the invitation of Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping.
