VOV.VN - Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Phan Chi Thanh joined with Governor of Chiang Mai province Nirat Phongsittithaworn to discuss a score measures aimed at ramping up co-operation between the province and Vietnamese localities.

The ambassador called on the Thai Governor to send delegations to Vietnamese localities in an effort to establish and develop co-operation relations.

The two nations now have 19 pairs of localities that have formed twinning relationships and co-operation ties.

The provincial official therefore affirmed that the province continues to respect and support the Vietnamese-origin community there.

Earlier the same day Ambassador Thanh paid a visit to Chiang Mai University to examine ways to bolster educational linkages.
