Party building, cadre management of paramount importance to Vietnam-Laos relations
VOV.VN - Party building, organizational work, and cadre management are of top importance to the revolutionary cause of both Vietnam and Laos.
Party General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized this at a reception in Hanoi on July 29 for a senior delegation from the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) led by Sisay Leudetmounsone, Politburo member and Head of the LPRP Central Organizing Commission.
At the reception, To Lam highly valued the signing of the new Cooperation Agreement for the 2026-2031 period between the two Party Central Organizing Commissions, as well as with Vietnam's Ministry of Home Affairs.
He urged both sides to step up the exchange of theoretical and practical experiences in political system construction and cadre training.
The Vietnamese top leader affirmed that Vietnam will continue to support enhanced cooperation and experience sharing, particularly as Vietnam reviews its one-year implementation of the two-tier local governance model and Laos streamlines its central apparatus while re-establishing commune-level administration.
For her part, Sisay Leudetmounsone expressed her deep gratitude for Vietnam's wholehearted support and congratulated the country on its historic achievements. She expressed confidence that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), the Vietnamese people will successfully realize the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress.
The Lao official pledged that the LPRP Central Organizing Commission will coordinate closely with its Vietnamese counterparts to effectively implement high-level agreements and the newly signed 2026-2031 cooperation pact, further deepening the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations.
