Outgoing RoK Ambassador honoured with Friendship Order

VOV.VN - Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son presented a Friendship Order on October 3 to the outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (RoK), Park Noh-wan, in recognition of his valuable contributions to developing joint ties between both sides.

Upon addressing those gathered at the ceremony, Minister Son said that the noble order demonstrated the Vietnamese State’s and people’s acknowledgement of the diplomat’s numerous efforts to grow bilateral relations, as well as his sentiments towards Vietnam.

He said that throughout his tenure, Ambassador Park and other members of the embassy had made significant efforts to enhance the joint strategic partnership in all spheres, including politics, diplomacy, security, economics, trade, investment, culture, people-to-people exchanges, and education.

The Ambassador has also collaborated several times with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other agencies, sectors, and localities throughout the country to foster these ties, which share a high-level of mutual political trust, the Minister affirmed.

He went on to state his hope that the outgoing Ambassador, regardless of his future, will make further contributions to take this relationship to new heights, as well boosting mutual solidarity for the sake of their people, and for peace, stability, prosperity, co-operation, and development in the region and in the world.

In response, Ambassador Park expressed his honour at receiving the Friendship Order and stated his deep affection for Vietnam and its people.

He noted that this year marks the 30th founding anniversary of Vietnam-RoK diplomatic relations and is therefore an occasion for the two sides to boost co-operation across all fields.

The diplomat said he will be dedicated to developing bilateral ties no matter what roles he takes on in the future.
