VOV.VN - National Assembly deputy Bui Van Cuong was re-elected as General Secretary and Chairman of the National Assembly Office for the 2021-2026 tenure at the ongoing first session of the 15th legislature on July 21.

All 478 deputies attending the plenary session voted for Cuong, who was General Secretary and Chairman of the Office of the 14th National Assembly.
Cuong, 56, hails from Kinh Mon district, Hai Duong province in the Red River Delta.
He was elected to the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, tenures XI, XII & XIII, and to the National Assembly, tenures XIII, XIV and XV.
He was appointed as Party Committee Secretary of Dak Lak, a province in the Central Highlands in July 2019.
Nearly two years later, he was elected as General Secretary and Chairman of the 14th National Assembly.
Also at the plenary session, the National Assembly elected its chairman of the Ethnic Council, chairmen of National Assembly Committees, and the State Auditor General.
The NA re-elected Vuong Dinh Hue as its chairman for the 2021-2026 tenure during the opening ceremony of the first session on July 20.
