Int’l forum highlights Vietnam-Venezuela cooperation potential
VOV.VN - Vietnam and Venezuela boast great potential to expand their trade and investment collaboration, experts said at an international forum held by the Vietnam Institute of Americas Studies (VIAS) under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences in Hanoi on August 29.
In his speech, Dr. Nguyen Cao Duc, Deputy Director in charge of the VIAS, emphasized that although various achievements have been recorded in the bilateral cooperation, the economic and trade ties between the two countries are still far from meeting their potential and strengths.
Duc showed his hope that the two sides will go ahead with more efforts to boost collaboration across multiple fields in order to foster the bilateral relations.
Given the current cooperation, Vietnam and Venezuela will reap even greater achievements in the time ahead, he added.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Nang Khieu, Deputy Director General of the Americas Department under the Vietnam Union of Friendship Associations, underscored that the bilateral ties hold huge potential to further develop, particularly in the areas of agriculture, oil and gas, and telecommunications.
Combined efforts and close cooperation between the two sides will offer new opportunities to increase investment and two-way trade, adding that Vietnam stands ready to support and accompany Venezuelan partners.
Participants at the event also proposed several measures and policies aimed at augmenting bilateral cooperation.
