PM pays lunar New Year visit to border Cao Bang province

Visiting Quang Hoa district, the PM briefed local people on the country’s major socio-economic development, national defence and international integration achievements in 2022 despite domestic and global difficulties, attributing the success to efforts by grassroots-level administrations, armed forces, businesses and people, including those in Cao Bang.

The Party and State always pay attention and direct all agencies to carefully prepare conditions for people to celebrate the coming Tet holiday in a joyful, healthy and safe manner, creating a source of encouragement for people to overcome difficulties and complete tasks assigned for 2023, he said.

He requested that Party committees and administration introduce practical initiatives, programmes and activities to take care of the poor, people of policy beneficiaries, workers and people in difficult circumstances to ensure everyone will enjoy a cozy Tet holiday.

The PM also reminded that Cao Bang province and Quang Hoa district in particular implement the results of the recent visit to China by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, as well as resolutions, programmes, master plans and socio-economic development plans of the Government, the National Assembly and Cao Bang, especially those on the construction and development of border and border-gate areas.

Vietnamese people will have seven days off work for the Tet holiday, the largest of its kind in Vietnam in a year, starting on January 20.

The same day, the PM made an inspection tour of the Ta Lung border gate area and the Dong Dang – Tra Linh expressway project connecting Tra Linh border gate with Tan Thanh border gate, Hanoi and localities in the Red River Delta.

There he emphasized the need to actively build a border of peace, friendship, cooperation and development between Vietnam and China.
