NA Standing Committee meets in Hanoi

VOV.VN - The Standing Committee of the National Assembly (NA) convened its 55th meeting in Hanoi on April 27 to review the results of the NA’s recent 11th session and preparations for the first session of the new legislature following election.

During the one-day sitting, Standing Committee deputies are scheduled to consider and decide on the establishment and boundary adjustment of a number of administrative units in Hanoi capital and three provinces of Thanh Hoa, Dong Nai, and Tuyen Quang.

They will also examine the expansion of Hue city and the establishment of wards of Hue city, the capital of Thua Thien - Hue province.

Among other issues, the deputies will decide on the continued use of capital to build headquarters of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad for 2021-2025.

This is the first regular session of the NA Standing Committee after key leaders of legislature, including the NA Chairman, Vice  Chairmen and heads of NA Committees, were elected at the recent 11th session of the 14th National Assembly.

Vietnamese people will go to the polls on May 23 to elect a new legislative and local People’s Councils for 2021-2026.
