NA discusses specific development mechanisms for four localities

VOV.VN - National Assembly (NA) deputies on October 22 discussed in group specific mechanisms for stronger development in Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Thua Thien - Hue.

All the four localities have their own resolutions on development issued by the Political Bureau, the highest policy-making body of the Communist party of Vietnam.

Among the localities, Hai Phong belongs to the northern development triangle comprising Hanoi, Hai Phong and Quang Ninh. The largest northern port city has made strong development breakthroughs in terms of GDP, budget revenue, and infrastructure construction in recent years.

Meanwhile, the central province of Thua Thien - Hue is striving to become a centrally run city under a Politburo issued development resolution. The Politburo has planned to build Thua Thien - Hue into a Government-managed heritage city with the former Imperial City of Hue serving as its core.

For the north-central province of Thanh Hoa, the locality is striving to become part of the northern development quadrangle along with Hanoi, Hai Phong and Quang Ninh. The large and populous province heavily relies on Nghi Son economic zone that houses Nghi Son Oil Refinery and Petrochemical Complex worth billions of US dollars.

Similarly, Nghe An province is a large locality in central Vietnam that has the fourth largest population in the country.

According to Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, proposed mechanisms and policies for the four localities have been carefully studied and evaluated to ensure their correlation with the mechanisms and policies that the National Assembly has adopted to apply in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.
