Major General takes the helm of Vietnam Coast Guard

VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has decided to appoint Major General Le Quang Dao as Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard under the Ministry of Defense.

Under a decision dated October 22. Major General Le Quang Dao, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Border Guard under the Ministry of National Defense will hold the position of Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard.

Born on March 23, 1971, Major General Dao hails from Gia Phong commune of Gia Vien district, Ninh Binh province in northern Vietnam.

He had acquired experience in border guard affairs for more than 20 years before holding the position of Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Border Guard in September 2020.

He was elected to the National Assembly for the 2021-2026 tenure in May 2021.

The PM also decided to appoint two Deputy Commanders of the Vietnam Coast Guard.
