Key lawmakers to convene four-day meeting this week

VOV.VN - The Standing Committee of the National Assembly will convene its 23rd session in Hanoi from May 9-12 to give opinions on important issues, including socio-economic and state budget reports.

The committee will examine a number of bills, including those on credit institutions (amended), land (amended), exit and entry of Vietnamese citizens, and entry, exit, transit and residence of foreigners in Vietnam.

It will give opinions on a revised resolution on a vote of confidence for position holders elected or ratified by the National Assembly and the local People’s Councils.

The key lawmakers will examine a report on the implementation of socio-economic development and State budget tasks in 2022 and in the first months of 2023, a Government report on thrift practice and waste prevention in 2022, and final settlement of state budget in 2021.

Among other things, they will also comment on the drafting of a resolution of the National Assembly that pilots a number of specific development mechanisms and policies for Ho Chi Minh City.

The lawmakers will examine preparations for the fifth session of the legislature which is scheduled to take place from May 22 to June 23.
