HCM City get-together marks Laos’ 45th National Day
VOV.VN - The Ho Chi Minh City chapter of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) held a get-together on November 27 to mark the 45th anniversary of Laos’ National Day (Dec. 2).
Addressing the function, Huynh Cach Mang, head of the VUFO’s HCM City chapter, congratulated the Party, Government and people of Laos on their remarkable achievements they have made in national construction and development during the past 45 years.
He highlighted the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos which he said serves as a source of strength to help the two countries to fight and win in their cause of national liberation, construction and defence, as well as international integration.
Mang noted with satisfaction the fine development of the relationship between HCM City and Lao localities, and said despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic the VUFO’s HCM City chapter has organized a number of youth exchanges between Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia to promote friendship and mutual understanding between the three countries involved.
The HCM City chapter vows to work hard to cement the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos, stressed Mang.
Vanxay Xaysena, Deputy Consul General of Laos to HCM City, briefed delegates on the achievements the Lao people have made over the past 45 years, saying such results could not be achieved without support and assistance from the Party, Government and people of Vietnam.
He stated that the Lao General Consulate in HCM City and together with the Lao people will do their utmost to preserve and boost the traditional friendship and special solidarity between the two countries, in the interest of the two countries’ people, and for peace, cooperation and progress in the region and the rest of the world.
