Vietnamese Embassy in India pays tribute to President Ho Chi Minh
VOV.VN - The Vietnamese Embassy in India held a flower-laying ceremony at a statue of President Ho Chi Minh in New Delhi’s G20 Park on September 1, marking 81 years of Vietnam’s National Day and reaffirming its commitment to further deepening the Enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and India.
In a solemn atmosphere, the delegation led by Ambassador Trinh Minh Manh expressed its profound gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh, who made outstanding contributions to Vietnam’s revolutionary cause and was also an influential figure in the international communist and workers’ movements.
At the statue, Ambassador Manh and other embassy officials affirmed their determination to further promote the Enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and India, making bilateral ties deeper, more substantive and effective while strengthening the traditional friendship between the two countries.
A symbol of Vietnam-India friendship
The statue of President Ho Chi Minh in New Delhi holds special significance in bilateral relations. It serves as a symbol of the affection and respect that the Indian State and people have for President Ho Chi Minh and Vietnam, while reflecting the close bonds between the two peoples.
Vietnam-India relations are rooted in the friendship established by President Ho Chi Minh and Prime Minister Mahatma Gandhi, and have been nurtured and strengthened by successive generations of leaders and people in both countries.
The annual tribute to President Ho Chi Minh in New Delhi on the occasion of Vietnam’s National Day therefore serves not only as an act of remembrance, but also as an opportunity to recall the historical foundations and shared spirit underlying Vietnam-India relations.
The statue was created by Ram V. Sutar, one of India’s leading sculptors. The work was completed with consultation and adjustments involving relevant Vietnamese agencies.
In the heart of New Delhi, the image of President Ho Chi Minh stands as a tangible symbol of friendship between the two countries - a relationship rooted in shared values of independence, peace and cooperation and continuing to deepen in the new era.
