Vice President meets foreign leaders at CICA 6

VOV.VN - Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan on October 13 met with leaders of Russia, China, Qatar and Pakistan on the sidelines of the sixth Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA 6) in Kazakhstan.

Meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Xuan affirmed that Vietnam attaches great importance to the comprehensive strategic partnership with the Russian Federation. She suggested that the two countries enhance effective cooperation, and work closely together to remove difficulties in bilateral economic, trade and investment cooperation.

Putin respectfully conveyed his greetings to senior Vietnamese leaders and said Russia always considers Vietnam an important partner in its foreign policy. He shared Xuan’s views that the two countries need to strengthen cooperation to bring bilateral relations to new heights.

While meeting with China’s Vice President Wang Qishan, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan reiterated Vietnam’s consistent policy of prioritizing its comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with China. She said Vietnam wishes to promote the relationship between the two Parties and States on a basis of high political trust and practical cooperation.

For his part, Vice President Wang said China places high importance on strengthening the comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership with Vietnam. He also agreed that both countries should well coordinate and implement the exchange of delegations at all levels in the coming time.

At other meetings with Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan affirmed that Vietnam desires to foster cooperative relations with Pakistan and Qatar as it will mark 50 years of diplomacy with Pakistan and 30 years of diplomacy with Qatar in 2023.

Both the Qatari Emir and Pakistani PM expressed their wishes to visit Vietnam soon, and said Qatar, Pakistan and Vietnam have huge potential for stronger cooperation, especially in economy, investment and trade.
