US President congratulates Vietnam on National Day, hails growing partnership
VOV.VN - US President Donald Trump has congratulated Vietnam on its 81st National Day, highlighting the strength and resilience of the Vietnamese people, growing bilateral ties and Vietnam’s increasingly prominent role in global affairs.
In a message to To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and State President, on September 1, President Trump extended his congratulations to the Vietnamese leader and the Vietnamese people on the occasion of Vietnam’s National Day on September 2.
He said Vietnam’s independence was “a testament to the strength and resilience of its people”, adding that its legacy continues to inspire the friendship shared by the two countries.
“Vietnam's independence is a testament to the strength and resilience of its people and to a legacy that continues to inspire the friendship our nations proudly share today.”
The US President said Washington values its “flourishing partnership” with Vietnam, particularly the progress made under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the two countries’ shared commitment to peace, prosperity and stability across the Indo-Pacific.

The US President also highlighted Vietnam’s growing role on the international stage, including its participation as a founding member supporting the Board of Peace.

He expressed his hope that the two countries would build on their progress and continue working together to promote shared prosperity and security.

President Trump concluded his message by wishing Vietnam greater success, peace and prosperity in the year ahead.
