Top Party leader affirms special bond between Vietnam and Laos
VOV.VN - Vietnam attaches great importance to promoting the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation with Laos, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong told outgoing Ambassador Sengphet Houngboungnuang at a reception in Hanoi on September 20.
Trong congratulated Laos on the important achievements that the Lao people under the leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) has recorded in recent times, and affirmed that Vietnam supports Laos’ Renovation process.
He highly appreciated Houngboungnuang’s contributions to Vietnam – Laos relations during his working term, saying the diplomat has helped arrange high-level visit exchanges and promote effective implementation of agreements reached by leaders of the two Parties and States.
He proposed that the Ambassador continue to actively contribute to preserving the precious tradition and cultivating the relationship between the two Parties, States and peoples in a more profound, practical and effective manner.
On this occasion, the Party chief respectfully conveyed his best regards to LPRP General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith and other senior leaders of Laos.
Ambassador Houngboungnuang for his part thanked Vietnamese agencies and localities for supporting him in accomplishing his working term, and assured his host that he would try his best to cultivate the Vietnam – Laos relationship in whatever position he holds.
