State President Phuc concludes Switzerland visit
VOV.VN - State president Nguyen Xuan Phuc on November 29 left Bern for Moscow, concluding his official visit to Switzerland and beginning a four-day official visit to Russia at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin.
During his stay in Switzerland, President Phuc held talks with his Swiss counterpart Guy Parmelin, and met many other Swiss politicians and leaders of international organisations headquartered in Geneva.
Both sides agreed to promote cooperation in economics-trade-investment, innovation, science-technology, education, among others. They also agreed to speed up negotiations of a free trade agreement between Vietnam and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA).
The two presidents witnessed the signing of various cooperation agreements and contracts in such fields as finance-banking, energy, aviation, logistics, education, and health care.
President Phuc also met with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Switzerland.
After Switzerland, the Vietnamese President began an official visit to Russia at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin from November 29 to December 2.
