Public Security Minister meets Philippine National Security Adviser
VOV.VN - Vietnamese Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang met Philippine National Security Adviser Eduardo San Lorenzo Oban Jr. in Manila on June 1 to discuss measures aimed at strengthening bilateral security cooperation and deepening the Enhanced Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
The meeting took place as part of the State visit to the Philippines by General Secretary and State President To Lam from May 31 to June 1.
During the meeting, both sides noted that the traditional friendship between Vietnam and the Philippines has continued to grow strongly in recent years across both bilateral and multilateral frameworks.
They said cooperation between the two countries has become increasingly substantive and effective, delivering practical benefits to the peoples of both nations while contributing to regional peace, stability and prosperity.
To further deepen the Vietnam–Philippines Enhanced Strategic Partnership, the two sides agreed to strengthen exchanges of delegations at all levels and promote the establishment and expansion of new security cooperation mechanisms in areas of shared concern.
The officials also emphasised closer coordination in addressing non-traditional security challenges, improving cooperation in ensuring security and safety for high-level visits, and protecting the security of diplomatic missions in each other’s territories.
Both sides agreed to continue facilitating favourable conditions for citizens of each country to live, study, work and travel in the other country.
They also reaffirmed the principle of not allowing any individual or organisation to use one country’s territory to conduct activities against the other.
