Promoting special relationship between Vietnam and Laos
VOV.VN - Lao daily newspaper Pasaxon (People) published a front-page editorial on April 11 highlighting the time-honoured friendship and special relationship between Laos and Vietnam to mark 45 years of the Friendship and Cooperation Treaty and 60 years of bilateral diplomatic ties for this year.
The editorial reviewed major milestones in the bilateral relationship, noting that both sides have stood alongside each other for more than half a century as they strived to overcome difficulties and gain victories in national construction, defence, and development.
The mutual relationship and co-operation is an objective requirement, a decisive factor for the victory of the two countries’ revolutions, as well as the basis of the great friendship, special solidarity, and all-round co-operation between the two countries, said the editorial.
According to the author, the ties of great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive co-operation have been increasingly cemented over time, thereby becoming a rare model for diplomatic relationships globally.
The editorial affirmed that late Vietnamese president Ho Chi Minh was the first person who sought national salvation for the Indochinese people and was also the first person who popularised Marxism-Leninism in both Vietnam and Laos.
The great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive co-operation between the two countries can be viewed as the common cause of the two parties, two states, and the two peoples, that therefore must be protected and nurtured to live forever, it concluded.
