PM meets with Marshal of Polish Senate in Warsaw
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Polish Senate Marshal Malgorzata Kidawa-Blonska in Warsaw on January 17 as part of his official visit to Poland.
Kidawa-Blonska welcomed Chinh’s visit, which she said would contribute to elevating bilateral relations to new heights. She also praised Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements in recent years as well as its growing role and position in the international arena.
The Senate Marshal affirmed that Vietnam remains a priority partner for Poland in the region and that the Senate supports the Polish Government in advancing relations with Vietnam to new heights.
Chinh for his part affirmed that in its foreign policy Vietnam highly values and seeks to strengthen cooperation with its traditional friends in Central and Eastern Europe, with Poland being a top priority partner.
Kidawa-Blonska lauded Vietnam’s policy and voiced the Senate’s support for the ratification of the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), thereby facilitating economic cooperation between the two countries.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the positive developments in bilateral relations across many important fields, noting that the Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group is the largest friendship group in the Polish Parliament that demonstrates the importance placed on ties with Vietnam.
As the two countries have potential and room to further relations, they agreed to enhance exchanges at all levels to strengthen political trust and promote bilateral cooperation.
Emphasizing the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation in bilateral ties, both host and guest supported increased exchanges between the legislative bodies of the two countries to share experiences in policymaking and lawmaking.
Both sides also agreed to enhance close coordination and mutual support at regional and global inter-parliamentary forums to contribute to peace, cooperation, and development in the region and the world at large.
Kidawa-Blonska praised the results of the talks between PM Pham Minh Chinh and PM Donald Tusk, and voiced support for the directions and measures proposed by both governments to take bilateral friendship and cooperation to a new stage of development.
She welcomed Vietnam’s decision to grant visa exemptions for Polish citizens in 2025 and agreed to boost cooperation in education, health care, culture, tourism, and labour.
The Senate leader highly appreciated the Vietnamese community in Poland for their dynamism, diligence, and significant contributions to Poland’s socio-economic development, serving as a bridge for friendship between the two nations.
Discussing regional and international issues of mutual interest, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to close coordination and mutual support at multilateral forums.
Chinh affirmed Vietnam’s support for Poland's accession to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC).
Both sides reiterated the importance of maintaining peace, stability, and resolving disputes through peaceful means based on international law.
On this occasion, Chinh extended an invitation from Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man to Kidawa-Blonska to visit Vietnam, and the invitation was accepted with pleasure.
