Military logistics of Vietnam and Laos boost cooperation

VOV.VN - Lieutenant General Tran Duy Giang, director of the General Department of Logistics of the Vietnam People’s Army held talks with Lieutenant General Khamphet Sisaone, director of the General Department of Logistics of the Lao People’s Army, in Hanoi on May 30.

During the talks, Giang emphasized that the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos has been increasingly consolidated and developed over the years, helping to support the good development of the cooperation and mutual assistance between the two countries’ Ministries of National Defense and General Departments of Logistics.

Both sides informed each other about the logistic work of their armies, noting that the military logistics sector of each country has comprehensively implemented all tasks, recorded important results, and well met the requirements of each country’s tasks in the new situation.

The two departments have well implemented cooperation plans, including exchange of delegations, training, and engagement in joint rescue drills. The two sides agreed to continue to closely coordinate with each other in sharing information and undertaking cooperation tasks assigned by the two countries’ defense ministries.

The same day, Deputy Defense Minister Sen. Lieut. Gen. Vu Hai San received the Lao defense officer.

San voiced his support for future cooperation orientations between the two General Departments of Logistics, and proposed that the two sides continue to provide free medical examination and treatment services for people in border areas, enhance exchange of experiences, and improve professional capacity.
