Israel hails Vietnam’s position in its foreign policy

VOV.VN - Vietnam holds an important position in Israel’s foreign policy, said Israeli President Isaac Herzog while receiving newly accredited Vietnamese ambassador Ly Duc Trung in Beit HaNassi (the President’s Residence) recently.

Herzog expressed his wish to further promote the Vietnam-Israel relations, especially in 2023 when both countries will celebrate 30 years of their diplomacy. He stressed the need to enhance people-to-people exchanges between the two countries through tourism and business connection.

The President also expected that the two sides would strengthen academic exchanges in identifying and assessing how to deal with the increasingly complex strategic competition of major powers as well as and the unstable global security environment.

Presenting his credentials, Ambassador Ly Duc Trung affirmed Vietnam wishes to maintain and further expand cooperation with Israel in fields of mutual interest such as economy - trade, science - technology, innovative start-ups and other fields.

The diplomat believed that after the two countries complete negotiations on a free trade agreement, an agreement on labor cooperation and the opening of direct flights, their people-to-people exchanges would be enhanced, creating new cooperation opportunities for the business community between the two countries.
