VOV.VN - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam has decided to appoint Samuel Minyan Jobe, a Gambian citizen, Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Gambia.

A ceremony to hand over the appointment decision to Jobe was held on May 26 by the Consular Department under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Addressing the ceremony, Pham Hoang Tung, deputy head of the Consular Department, congratulated Jobe on the appointment and expressed his belief that Jobe with his prestige and personal capacity would make efforts to contribute to promoting multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, and to protect the interests of the State, as well as the legitimate rights and interests of Vietnamese citizens and legal entities in Gambia.

The Consular Department, the Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria and the relevant Vietnamese agencies will create all conditions to support the Honorary Consul to successfully complete the assigned tasks, he assured.

For his part, Jobe vowed to work hard to protect Vietnamese expatriates, support their life in Gambia and contribute to developing relations between the two countries in all fields.
