HCM City leader visits NASDAQ Stock Market in New York

VOV.VN - A delegation of the Ho Chi Minh City administration led by its chairman Phan Van Mai paid a working visit to the NASDAQ Stock Exchange in New York, the United States, on July 19 (local time).

Meeting with the leadership of the market, Mai briefed his hosts on Ho Chi Minh City’s plan to become an international financial center in the future with a wide range of financial services and the ability to integrate deeply with world markets.

He hoped that NASDAQ experts would share experience and support Ho Chi Minh City in building this centre. He also expected that businesses of Ho Chi Minh City would have the opportunity to be listed on the NASDAQ Stock Market in the near future.

NASDAQ is the second largest stock exchange in the US after the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), with an average daily trading volume of 200,000 shares. Currently, NASDAQ is home to approximately 4,000 listed companies with a market capitalization of US$15,000-17,000 billion and more than 10,000 corporate clients.

Later the Ho Chi Minh City delegation flew to Los Angeles and had a meeting with the leadership of LAX airport to learn and share experience in infrastructure planning around the airport.
