HCM City get-together marks Cuba’s Liberation Day
VOV.VN - The Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organisations (HUFO) hosted a get-together on January 5 to mark Cuba’s 63rd Liberation Day (January 1).
In her opening remarks, HUFO President Truong Thi Hien highlighted the special, loyal friendship and relationship between Vietnam and Cuba that have stood the test of time for more than half a century.
According to Hien, Cuba was ready to share experience, provide medical biological products, vaccines, and transfer technology to Vietnam during the latter’s COVID-19 fight.
In turn, Vietnam promoted trade and investment cooperation with Cuba, especially in the fields of health and biotechnology, helping it overcome economic difficulties.
This is a clear demonstration of the special affection and friendship between the two countries, noted Hien.
She affirmed that in 2022 the HUFO will coordinate closelywith the Cuban Consulate General to carry out activities to promote cooperation and strengthen friendship between the two peoples.
Ariadne Feo Labrada, representative of the Cuban Consulate General, noted that 2022 was a successful year in the Cuba-Vietnam relationship marked by a State-level visit by Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
Cuba will try its best to foster the friendship as well as political, economic and investment ties with Vietnam, she stressed.
The Cuban diplomat thanked HCM City and other southern localities for supporting the Consulate General and the Cuban community in Vietnam, and vowed to work hard to connect the two countries’ young generations and contribute to developing the relationship between Cuba and Vietnam.
