Defense Minister inspects preparations for Vietnam Defense Expo 2024
VOV.VN - Defense Minister Phan Van Giang on November 30 inspected forces’ preparations for the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 due to take place in Hanoi in mid-December.
After reviewing the rehearsals for the opening ceremony, General Giang expressed his appreciation for the determination and efforts of the organizing committee, as well as the relevant agencies and units involved in preparing for the event. He also praised their proactive approach and cooperation among the staff, soldiers, artists, and performers taking part in the exhibition.
“The exhibition should highlight the strength, unity, and determination of the Vietnamese military. We affirm to the world that the Vietnam People’s Army is a combat force, a working force, a labor-producing force. We aim to develop the defense industry to be self-reliant, self-sufficient, modern, and adaptable,” said the minister.
He also acknowledged the contribution of the Vietnamese Air Force pilots who will be performing aerial displays during the opening ceremony, emphasizing their heroic role in showcasing the strength of the army.
As the expo is drawing near, General Giang urged all participating forces and related units to make their utmost efforts to ensure that “Tomorrow we will do better than today”.
The Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 is scheduled to take place from December 19 to 22, 2024, at Gia Lam airport in Hanoi. The exhibition will cover a total area of more than 100,000 m², with 15,000 m² dedicated to indoor displays and more than 20,000 m² of outdoor exhibition space.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition will feature a spectacular program under the theme “Vietnam - Peace - Cooperation – Development”, sending a meaningful message to the international community about Vietnam’s commitment to peace, cooperation, and development. The event will involve over 2,000 officers and soldiers from various military and civilian units, lasting about 1 hour, with 30 minutes dedicated to an art program and 30 minutes for the main ceremony.
A key highlight of the opening ceremony will be the air show by the Vietnam People's Air Force, martial arts displays by the Commando Force, and military dog training by the Border Guard Force. It is expected that 10 SU-30MK2 fighter jets will fly in a formation of 3-4-3, and 10 helicopters will perform in a similar formation during the opening ceremony.
