Defence Minister Giang receives Cuban Construction Minister
VOV.VN - Minister of National Defense General Phan Van Giang received Cuban Minister of Construction René Antonio Mesa Villafana in Hanoi on March 28.
Gen. Giang hailed the time-honoured friendship between Vietnam and Cuba over the past decades, and said despite its difficulties Cuba has lent its helping hand to Vietnam’s COVID-19 fight.
He spoke highly of Cuba’s experience in construction, noting the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam has decided to choose DINVAI under the Ministry of Construction of Cuba as the consultant to supervise the Truong Son Dong Road Project in Vietnam.
The two sides have closely coordinated with each other in implementing the project to ensure its schedule and quality, he said.
The General proposed that the Cuban ministry continue to direct DINVAI to select supervisory consultants with professional experience, so that the project would be completed by 2025 as scheduled.
The Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam will create maximum conditions for the two sides to well complete the tasks assigned by the Governments of the two countries, and at the same time to consider expanding cooperation in the field of construction, he assured his guest.
Minister René Antonio Mesa Villafana thanked the Vietnamese side for creating conditions for Cuba to participate in the Truong Son Dong Road Project, and expressed hope Cuba would engage in other construction projects to be invested by the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam in the coming time.
