China supports Vietnam’s independent and self-reliant economy endevour

VOV.VN - Ambassador Xiong Bo has said China supports Vietnam to build an independent and self-reliant economy with high-quality development and extensive international integration.

Meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang of Vietnam in Hanoi on February 8, the Chinese ambassador assured China is willing to work alongside Vietnam to promote bilateral cooperation in economy, trade and other fields in a more practical and effective manner.

Meanwhile, Deputy PM Tran Luu Quang who hosted the Chinese Ambassador suggested both countries maintain high-level reciprocal visits, well organize the 15th meeting of the Steering Committee for Vietnam – China bilateral cooperation, as well as hold exchanges between the two countries’ communist parties, ministries, mass organizations and localities.

He also suggested the two sides maintain bilateral trade growth in a balanced and sustainable direction, raise the scale and quality of investment cooperation, resolve pending issues in a number of cooperation projects, and make preparations for tourism recovery following China’s recent decision to ease COVID-19 restrictions and reopen borders.

Ambassador Xiong Bo welcomed Deputy PM Tran Luu Quang’s proposals and said the Chinese Embassy in Hanoi will act as a bridge to foster the comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership between China and Vietnam.

Both host and guest reviewed major developments in the Vietnam – China relations and exchanged views on measures to strengthen bilateral cooperation, including realizing the high-level perceptions following Vietnamese Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s recent visit to China.
