Cambodia’s ruling party leader congratulates Vietnam on Party Congress success

VOV.VN - President of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) and Prime Minister of Cambodia Hun Sen congratulated Vietnam on the success of the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) during phone talks with Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong on February 3.

Hun Sen also congratulated Trong on his re-election as General Secretary of the CPV Central Committee.

He spoke highly of the tremendous achievements that Vietnam has made in recent years, and expressed his belief under the leadership of the CPV led by Trong, the Vietnamese people will continue to reap greater achievements in national development and international integration.

The Cambodian leader also sent his best wishes to the CPV and its General Secretary on the occasion of the Party’s 91st founding anniversary (February 3).

For his part, Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong thanked Hun Sen for his congratulations, and wished the Cambodian people would record more comprehensive achievements in national construction and development, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world at large.

Both leaders hailed the fruitful cooperation in various areas between the two ruling parties and countries over the years, and affirmed both sides will work closely together to effectively implement high-level agreements reached between their top leaders.

Vietnam and Cambodia will continue to develop their good neighbourliness, traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation sustainably, contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world, they stressed.

On this occasion, Party chief Trong invited Hun Sen to visit Vietnam and the invitation was accepted with pleasure.
