Cambodian King upbeat about flourishing ties with Vietnam

VOV.VN - Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni has expressed pleasure at seeing comprehensive co-operation between Vietnam and Cambodia constantly develop through high-level exchange visits and meetings held between ministries and agencies.

During a reception held on October 25 for Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Nguyen Huy Tang who came to present a letter of credence from the State President, King Sihamoni welcomed the Vietnamese diplomat's appointment as Ambassador to the Kingdom of Cambodia. He used the occasion to emphasise the meaning of solidarity and the long-standing traditional friendship relationship between the two peoples.

He went on to voice hope that both sides would maintain and utilise results in order to bring mutual benefits to both nations.

King Sihamoni also highly appreciated Vietnamese comprehensive development, outlining that Ambassador Tang will have a successful term and make positive contributions to boosting bilateral relations moving forward.

In response, Ambassador Tang expressed his honour at being designated as Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia, as well as his profound thanks to King Sihamoni and the Cambodian people for their fine sentiments and attention to Vietnam.

The local diplomat added that he believes that under the clear-sighted leadership of King Sihamoni, the Senate, the National Assembly, and the Government of Cambodia, the Cambodian people will continue to enjoy greater achievements. This is particularly in regard to the path of building the Kingdom of Cambodia into a nation of peace, stability, and prosperous development.

He pledged his best efforts to cultivate the traditional and long-standing relationship between the two countries and peoples, contributing to effectively developing sound relations, time-honoured  friendship, and comprehensive co-operation, and ensuring long-term sustainability for both sides.

On this occasion, Ambassador Tang conveyed his greetings and best wishes from senior Vietnamese leaders to King Sihamoni and the Queen Mother.
