Spectacular views of Dong Van Stone Plateau

The rocky mountain account for up to 70% of the Dong Stone Plateau’s total area while the remaining 30% is made up of soil and rock. |
Covering a total area of 2,350sq.km across the districts of Quan Ba, Yen Minh, Dong Van and Meo Vac, the natural landscape earned the nickname ‘stone plateau’ due to its rocky features. |
Visitors to the plateau enjoy taking in the area’s spectacular views of steep hills and vast natural grandeur. |
In total, the plateau is home to 250,000 inhabitants belonging to 17 different ethnic groups. The Mong people make up a major partition of people in the mountainous area. |
On October 3, 2010, the natural landscape was officially recognized by the United Nations Organisation for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO) as a global geo-park. |
The plateau has become Vietnam’s first geological park and only the second in all of Southeast Asia. |
Since being recognized by UNESCO, the plateau has been renamed the Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark. |
