Hung Kings museum embodies Vietnam’s glorious history

VOV.VN - As part of the Hung Temple Historical Relic Complex, the Hung King National Museum in Viet Tri city boasts a unique architecture and embodies Vietnam’s glorious history.

The Hung King National Museum is a special religious destination for Vietnamese people.
Its design is based on the Vietnamese people’s ancient philosophy that the earth was square and the sky was round. The 2-storey museum covers nearly 1,000 square meters.
It was built in the late 1980s and has been renovated several times.
Bronze drums are displayed at the museum.
The Dong Son boat pattern on the bronze drums reflects the most important means of transportation during the Hung Kings period.
Items and tools of ancient Vietnamese help enrich visitors’ understanding of Vietnam’s history and culture.

The museum has nearly 700 original objects and 4,000 reproductions which reveal Vietnam’s history from the stone age to the national construction period of the Hung Kings, the Hung Kings’ Temple, and the Hung Kings worshiping rituals.
On February 18, 1945, President Ho Chi Minh signed a decree, allowing workers to take a day off on the tenth day of the third lunar month to commemorate the Hung Kings’ death anniversary. A group of statues features President Ho Chi Minh’s talk with soldiers, who were about to take over Hanoi on September 18, 1954.
A photo of the talk is displayed at the museum, in which President Ho Chi Minh said: “The Hung Kings had built the nation, we must unite to protect it”.
