Many of Hanoi’s main streets are left submerged in water following a lengthy period of torrential rain this morning. With the weather conditions forcing commuters to drive slower than usual, long lines of vehicles and motorcycles cause heavy congestion to form on main roads throughout the city, including on Nguyen Trai, Truong Chinh, and Pham Van Dong. Many drivers take to the pavements in an effort to avoid the city’s traffic jams. A broken-down taxi on Nguyen Trai street leads to further traffic chaos. Commuters are forced to move at a snail's pace at the intersection of Nguyen Trai and Khuat Duy Tien streets.
