The President Ho Chi Minh memorial site is located in Xiengvang village of Nong Bok district in Khammuon province, nearly 400 km south of Vientiane, the capital city of Laos.

The site spans an area of 1.5 hectares and was completed back in 2012.

Many Laotian and Vietnamese people visit the site on special occasions, including Vietnam’s National Day on September 2 and President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday on May 19.

The entrance to the second floor of the Memorial House features both Vietnamese and Laotian national flags, as well as an image of Uncle Ho receiving Laos President Kaysone Phomvihane.

The memorial house displays images of Vietnam-Laos culture, introduces the biography and career of President Ho Chi Minh, shows photographs of Uncle Ho during his revolutionary activities, and details activities of the two countries’ leaders throughout history.

Xiengvang Village was founded in 1882 with only 10 Vietnamese families. In 1945 the number of Vietnamese families had climbed to 500.
