A terrible fire caused by a short circuit claims the lives of eight people and causes one injury in a small alley in District 11 of Ho Chi Minh City at 5 p.m. on May 7. A total of seven fire engines and roughly 100 firefighters help to control a fire in 20 minutes in Vinh city of Nghe An province, which goes on to kills six people at 0:17 a.m. on June 15. A short circuit also causes a fire in a small house in Thu Duc city of Ho Chi Minh City at 1:10 a.m. on March 30, resulting in six deaths and one person being seriously injured.
