Multimedia Photos Mai Vang Awards honours outstanding local artists Friday, 12:15, 15/01/2021 VOV.VN - An array of talented artists in different fields of movie, music, and theatre were honoured at the annual Mai Vang (Golden Ochna) Awards ceremony held on January 14 in Ho Chi Minh City. The most popular titles are named as “Rom” in the movie category, “Ao cuoi truoc cong chua” for theatrical plays, and “Sieu tri tue Viet Nam” in the television programme section. In terms of the theatre category, Vo Minh Lam and Tu Suong are named as the most popular actor and actress, respectively. The first version of the Mai Vang (Golden Ochna) Awards was held in 1995 by Nguoi Lao Dong (Labourer) newspaper, with the aim of recognising the contributions of artists to Vietnamese cultural activities. Huynh Lap wins the award for most popular comic actor. On behalf of Huynh Lap, People’s Artist Ngoc Giau (R) receives the title. The event is held annually, with this year marking the 26th version of the function. Artist Hoai Linh and emcee Dai Nghia are both honoured for their great contributions to the community, especially in uniting alongside local people in the fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and supporting flood victims in central Vietnam. Nhan Phuc Vinh and Van Phuong receive their titles after being named as the most popular actor and actress in the movie category. The award for most popular emcee is given to Ngo Kien Huy. Phuong Anh claims the award for Golden Ochna Awards for most popular folk singer. Jack and Vu Cat Tuong claim the award for most popular male and female singers.
