Hanoi capital tests metro trains on overground route

VOV.VN - The Hanoi capital on July 1 carried out a test run of its trains on the overground track under the Nhon-Hanoi Railway Station Metro project before it is officially put into operation later this year.

hanoi capital tests metro trains on overground route picture 1 — The six trains are put into operation on a trial basis on the line’s 8.5km long elevated section running from the Nhon Depot area in Nam Tu Liem district to Station S8 in Cau Giay district.

hanoi capital tests metro trains on overground route picture 2 — According to Le Trung Hieu, deputy head of the Hanoi Metropolitan Railway Management Board (MRB), the project has so far received six out of a total of 10 trains manufactured in France.

hanoi capital tests metro trains on overground route picture 5 — The 10 trains which will run as part of the Nhon-Hanoi Railway Station Metro project have been designed and manufactured by Alstom. The first train initially arrived on October 18, 2020.

hanoi capital tests metro trains on overground route picture 12 — The Nhon-Hanoi Railway Station metro route runs for a total of 12.5 kilometres, including 8.5 kilometres overground and four kilometres underground. The overground section is due to be put into operation later this year, and the underground section by late 2022.
